ABOUT THE BUSINESS

I'm Beth. I've been a gardener since I was a child.

I grew up in a village called Sharnford, in Leicestershire, with my house located just a 5 minute walk from Fosse Meadows Nature Reserve. I cite this as being the place I truly found myself.

Here, Jackdaws inhabited chimneys and mallard ducks built a nest and visited our bird table. Hedgehogs were frequent visitors, owing to the shrubbery and plants we had in our large garden - teaching me that gardening isn't just aesthetically pleasing, it can also be beneficial for wildlife. I began to spend more and more time in the garden.

I'd stay up all night in the school summer holidays, watching the hedgehogs and waiting for the beautiful dawn chorus to begin. That wave of birdsong carried on the breeze from the nature reserve, the sky magical colours, often witnessed from my bedroom window as everyone around my 10-year-old self slept on. It changed me forever and set me on the path to outdoor life.

For me, gardening is about that connection with nature, the incredible world outside. Any garden, though small, is part of a much bigger system, and yet each garden is different.

In recent years, I have volunteered as a ranger at Fosse Meadows, worked in a garden centre, studied a degree in biology and learnt how to grow my own fruit and vegetables. (My back garden is my little farm)! I volunteered (for The Duke of Edinburgh Award) to overhaul a garden at a care home. For the residents, this made a huge difference to their lives. Once I discovered the joy of helping other people to make the most of their gardens, I knew this was something I just had to do.

At the start of 2024, I decided to launch my own business, providing garden services to the surrounding villages for local people. I love what I do and I enjoy providing a good service to my customers. I'm passionate about delivering what each individual needs for their garden.
